Purchasing a copy of John Jenkins: Mayor of Maine serves a two-fold purpose. The first is to ensure that the story of one of Maine’s most beloved and inspirational figures gains the attention it so richly deserves. Secondly, all profits from the book fund the John Jenkins scholarship for minority students at Bates College.
As Maine Governor Janet T. Mills wrote, “What I remember most about John Jenkins are not the titles he held, but the way he held them. He never forgot the inherent, intangible power of the office and the ability to make people feel good just by showing up.”
